The Village

THE VILLAGE | Ages 3–4

A 5-Star PreK Site

Our Mission

The mission of Gym Magic Kids Early Childhood Development Center at The Village is to provide a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where young preschool children grow and thrive. We believe a positive attitude toward learning is one of the most valuable foundations any institution can provide. We respect the unique culture, heritage, language, and beliefs each child and family brings. Every child has special learning abilities, and we are committed to building on these strengths by fostering a sense of belonging, positive social relationships, and meaningful family partnerships.

A PreK Site Preparing Children for Kindergarten Success

The Village proudly serves as a PreK site, helping children build the foundational skills needed for success in kindergarten through developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support language, problem-solving, cooperation, and independence.

Vision Alignment

Aligned with the Gym Magic Kids vision, The Village prepares children to grow into confident, capable learners through movement, early academics, and purposeful learning experiences that support long-term success.

A Movement-Based PreK Program

At The Village, we believe that movement and active learning play a vital role in preparing children for school and life. Preschool-aged children thrive when learning is engaging, purposeful, and fun, which is why movement and hands-on experiences are intentionally integrated throughout the day.

Curriculum: Frog Street, ZooPhonics & S’Cool Moves

Our PreK program uses a blended, research-based curriculum approach that includes:

  • Frog Street Curriculum to support comprehensive early learning
  • ZooPhonics to strengthen early literacy and phonemic awareness
  • S’Cool Moves to promote brain-body connections through purposeful movement

Grounded in New Mexico’s early childhood principles, our curriculum emphasizes relationships, collaboration, and learning through play as the foundation for school readiness and academic success.

5-Star Quality & Excellence

The Village is proud to be a 5-Star program under New Mexico’s FOCUS Quality Rating and Improvement System. This recognition reflects our commitment to excellence in early childhood education, qualified teaching staff, family engagement, and continuous quality improvement.

Supporting the Whole Child

By combining movement, early academics, and social-emotional learning, we support the whole child—mind, body, and heart—while helping children build confidence, resilience, independence, and a strong love for learning.

What Makes The Village Special

  • PreK program for ages 3–4
  • Frog Street, ZooPhonics & S’Cool Moves curricula
  • Movement-integrated learning environment
  • Focus on independence, confidence, and resilience
  • 5-Star FOCUS quality standards

These ratios allow teachers to build strong relationships with children while supporting development, safety, and school readiness.

Teacher-Child Ratios

Small group sizes help ensure individualized attention and meaningful learning experiences.

Our classroom ratios include:

• Early PreK (3 years old): 1 teacher for every 8 children
• PreK (4 years old): 1 teacher for every 10 children
• Mixed Age (3–4 years old): 1 teacher for every 8 children

Unique Feature:

Children at The Village have the opportunity every day to run and play indoors while using the large indoor preschool gym. In addition, our children experience purposeful movement in the gym designed to support coordination, confidence, and active learning while creating a dynamic environment where children can learn, move, and grow.

Supporting Families Through Child Care Assistance

The Village offers a Wraparound Program from 3:00–5:30 PM for families who need care after the PreK program ends. Eligible families may use ECECD Child Care Assistance through New Mexico’s Universal Child Care initiative. Through this program, many families who are working or attending school, may qualify for no-cost child care assistance, allowing eligible children to attend with care funded by the state.

High-Quality Care You Can Trust

The Village  is a 5-Star FOCUS rated program, the highest quality rating for early childhood education in the state of New Mexico.

Transition to Kindergarten

The Village is designed to support a smooth and confident transition into kindergarten. Children develop foundational academic skills, classroom routines, independence, and social-emotional readiness to help them succeed in their next learning environment.
