Nursery School | Ages 1–3
A 5-Star Nursery School
Our Mission
The mission of Ashley’s Garden at Gym Magic Kids is to provide a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where young children grow and thrive. We believe a positive attitude toward learning is one of the most valuable foundations for future success. We honor each child’s unique culture, family, and abilities while fostering a sense of belonging, positive relationships, and growth for both children and families.
A Unique Space for Toddlers to Move, Explore, and Grow
Ashley’s Garden toddlers enjoy daily movement experiences in the Gym Magic Kids preschool gym, providing children with a safe space to climb, balance, and explore movement. By combining nurturing relationships, play-based learning, and purposeful movement, Ashley’s Garden offers a dynamic early childhood experience that helps set our program apart from other childcare centers in the community.
Vision Alignment
Guided by the Gym Magic Kids vision, Ashley’s Garden supports young children in developing confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning through nurturing relationships, movement, and play.
A Nurturing, Movement-Based Start to Learning
At Ashley’s Garden, we believe that movement, play, and nurturing relationships are the foundation of early learning. During the toddler years, children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and free to explore, which is why our program intentionally weaves movement and sensory experiences throughout each day using the Frog Street Curriculum.
Play-Based Learning Guided by the Frog Street Curriculum
We serve children ages 1–3 in a warm, responsive environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and confidence. Guided by New Mexico’s early childhood principles and the Frog Street Curriculum, our teachers focus on play-based learning, daily routines, and meaningful interactions that support each child’s individual development.
5-Star Quality & Excellence
Ashley’s Garden is proud to be a 5-Star program under New Mexico’s FOCUS Quality Rating and Improvement System. This distinction reflects our commitment to meeting and exceeding state standards for early childhood education, including high-quality learning environments, qualified educators, family engagement, and continuous improvement.
Supporting the Whole Child
Through gentle movement, sensory exploration, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences, we support the whole child—mind, body, and heart—while helping toddlers build trust, confidence, and a joyful love for learning in a safe and caring space.
Supporting Families Through Child Care Assistance
Ashley’s Garden is committed to supporting families by making high-quality early childhood education accessible to our entire community. Our program participates in the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) Child Care Assistance Program and supports the state’s Universal Child Care initiative.
Through this program, many families who are working or attending school, may qualify for no-cost childcare assistance, allowing eligible children to attend with care funded by the state.
Teacher-Child Ratios
Small Group Ratios
Ashley’s Garden maintains small teacher-to-child ratios to ensure that every child receives the attention, care, and guidance they need during these important early years.
Our classroom ratios include:
• One-Year-Olds: 1 teacher for every 4 children
• Two-Year-Olds: 1 teacher for every 6 children
These small group sizes allow our educators to build strong relationships with each child while supporting individual development, safety, and meaningful learning experiences.
High-Quality Care You Can Trust
Ashley’s Garden is a 5-Star FOCUS rated program, the highest quality rating for early childhood education in the state of New Mexico.
Extended Care Available
